ESIL Research Forums aim to promote the exchange of fresh ideas between both junior and more established scholars. As this is the first event organised by the ESIL in Central Europe , the Society has chosen to concentrate the Forum on issues currently affecting the region.

With this aim in mind, 2 dominant questions will be addressed:

“ Is international law relevant in the resolution of Central and Eastern Europe ’s present regional or bilateral conflicts?”
and
“Are states of the region ready to look beyond their immediate neighbourhood towards participating in the resolution of conflicts beyond Europe , including global threats?”

L'objectif principal du Forum de recherche de la SEDI est d'encourager la présentation de recherches en cours, en particulier par des jeunes chercheurs. Dans la mesure où il s’agit de la première manifestation scientifique organisée par la SEDI en Europe centrale et orientale, la Société a décidé de centrer le Forum sur des questions intéressant particulièrement cette région. Dans cet esprit, les débats s’articuleront à partir de deux questions principales :

« Quelle est la pertinence du droit international pour résoudre les différends bilatéraux ou régionaux actuels en Europe centrale et orientale ? »

et

« Les Etats de la région sont-ils prêts à regarder au-delà de leur voisinage immédiat et à participer au règlement de conflits extra européens, y compris les menaces globales ? ».
